Todo un campeón del mundo y europeo formará parte de la plantilla 2019 de Caja Rural – Seguros RGA. El castellonense Sebastián Mora (Villarreal, 1988) tendrá su primera oportunidad en un equipo de la categoría Profesional-Continental después de demostrar todo su potencial en la pista, donde se proclamó campeón del mundo de scratch en Londres 2016. Además, también fue campeón europeo de esta disciplina en 2015 y doble campeón continental en madison (2015 y 2016), formando dúo con el balear Albert Torres. Esta temporada, ambos se colgaron la plata en el Mundial de Apeldoorn; mientras que Mora sumó dos nuevos títulos nacionales (persecución y madison) a su amplio palmarés en Campeonatos de España.
Su principal función en Caja Rural – Seguros RGA será ayudar y proteger a los velocistas de la formación navarra, quienes tendrán en Mora a un poderoso aliado en los metros finales. Se trata de la octava y última incorporación de la temporada tras los anuncios de Matteo Malucelli, Jon Aberasturi, Alan Banaszek, Domingos Gonçalves, Sergei Chernetskii y los neos Xavi Cañellas y David González.
Sebastián Mora: «Afrontar la próxima temporada con Caja Rural – Seguros RGA supone una gran y nueva experiencia para mí. Se trata de un equipo español puntero, algo que llevaba buscando bastante tiempo y que por fin ha llegado. Será una nueva etapa para mí, un salto de calidad a la categoría Profesional-Continental, de la que no he formado parte hasta ahora. Sobre todo espero aportar mi trabajo como lanzador para los sprinters, ya que es la función que mejor puedo desempeñar gracias al trabajo que vengo realizando en la pista.
