Mauri Moreira estrena su palmarés tras rematar a la perfección una disputada fuga

Llegó la tercera victoria de la temporada para Caja Rural-Seguros RGA de la mano de Mauri Moreira. El uruguayo se anotó la primera etapa de las Boucles de La Mayenne después de resolver una escapada imponiéndose al sprint al francés Julien Duval (ALM). Es el premio a la combatividad que siempre derrocha el potente corredor uruguayo, otro fruto de la cantera ‘verde’. Este triunfo le coloca tercero en la general, a tres segundos del liderato.

En una jornada marcada por el viento y la lluvia, la carrera estuvo marcada por una primera fuga de cuatro corredores que en ningún momento alteró demasiado los planes del pelotón. Fue un corte posterior de nueve hombres es que a la postre se jugaría el triunfo, con Moreira entre ellos. Juntos fueron abriendo diferencia hasta que poco antes del último kilómetro llegó el demarraje del uruguayo para acabar imponiéndose por pura potencia.

Mauri Moreira: «Quiero agradecer el apoyo a todos mis compañeros por su apoyo en un día muy duro por la lluvia. La etapa se ha hecho larga pero cuando se ha hecho la selección me encontraba bien. He podido guardar todo lo posible para arrancar a un kilómetro más o menos y he tenido fuerzas para conseguir la victoria. Es una alegría muy grande para mí y para todo el equipo, y un punto importante de confianza para afrontar todo lo que venga».

Por su parte, otro bloque de corredores se encuentra disputando las Hammer Series de Limburg, donde Alex Aranburu ha brillado con luz propia en el trazado con dos cotas. El vasco ha colocado con sus puntos al equipo en quinta posición de la general, a la espera de que se disputen las pruebas para velocistas y la persecución por equipos.

Alex Aranburu: «En pruebas como estas con subidas cortas me encuentro muy bien. La carrera salió muy loca, todos íbamos con fuerzas y hay que seleccionar bien a qué ataque sales. Se fue una fuga y estuve atento  para cuando tuviera la oportunidad. A partir de ahí intenté puntuar todo lo posible y he podido sumar buenos puntos para el equipo. Me estoy encontrando con buenas sensaciones, espero prolongar el punto de forma y aprovecharlo para pelear por las próximas carreras».

On the other hand, another block of riders is participating in the Hammer Series of Limburg, where Alex Aranburu has shone with his own light in the Hammer Climb. The Basque has placed with his points to the team in fifth position in overall standing, waiting for Hammer Sprint and Hammer Chase, to be disputed next days.

Alex Aranburu: «In races like these with short climbs I feel very good. The race went crazy, we were all strong and we have to choose what attack you are going out of. When I had the opportunity. I tried to score as much as possible and I was able to score good points for the team, I am finding myself with good feelings, I hope to keep going and take advantage of it to fight for the next races».
