The new roster of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA continues to take shape with the arrival of Jhojan García (Fusagasugá, 1998), another young Under 23 value that has already left signs of his quality in his three years in the category. The Colombian rider has stood out especially in the mountains, where he has achieved his best results so far.
García finished eighth the general classification of the last Tour de l’Avenir, one of the most important races of the U23 calendar, finishing sixth the ITT in Méribel. In Spain he has also accumulated interesting performances this season, such as the 10th place in the Vuelta a Asturias or the triumph in the young classification of the Vuelta a Madrid. In addition, he is the current runner-up Colombian Under 23, both on the road race and ITT.
Jhojan García: I am very happy to sign for Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, very grateful to be able to ride the next season in Europe. It is a team that has a great infrastructure and schedule. I was able to coincide with them in several races and I always looked at their attitude. In addition, it is a team with a lot of history.
For my part, I hope to show that I can be with the best, try to win any race and help my teammates to do it . It will be very important to make a good beginning of the season, so that the team is taken into account for La Vuelta and, why not, as a personal objective I would like to participate in this race. Anyway, the team has a great calendar in Europe. I will try to give my best wherever I go. Now I will rest for a few weeks in Colombia and start preparing the new season very motivated.
