A young pearl of international cycling lands on the professional team of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA. The Colombian Alejandro Osorio (El Carmen de Viboral, 1998) arrives at the green formation after a complicated first professional campaign, as a result of a fall in the Tour of the Alps in April.
Even with an injured knee, Osorio has been able to leave valuable details of his worth, both before (11th in the competitive Tour de Colombia), and afterwards, with very regular performances in the Italian classics in the last part of the season. The rider from Antioquía not only has good skills in the mountain, but he has also demonstrated his ability in the hilly one day races.
Although in 2020 he will still be an under 23 rider, he already offered a very good level in 2018 in important appointments within this category, winning a mountain stage and finishing sixth in the general classification of the Giro d’Italia or winning the KOM jersey in the Tour de l’Avenir.
Alejandro Osorio: I was injured this year but I could still do good races. I prefer to think about the future and I am very excited about the next season. Now it’s time to return to Colombia and rest to start working looking forward to this new stage in Caja Rural-Seguros RGA. I have very good references from the team so I am happy to be part of it. I hope to have good legs and health for the next year, to do well all the races wherever I go and to help my teammates.
